The benchmark in every respect: the BMW 3 Series is, and will always be, the vehicle that other sporty compact models aspire to. And now the world’s most successful premium car has set the bar even higher, offering even more dynamism, elegance and sports-style performance.
Since its launch in 1975, the BMW 3 Series has set the standards in the medium class car segment. Dynamics and driving pleasure were resolutely combined with uncompromising quality and safety, creating a new category of vehicles offering sports performance.
After 34 years since its first debut, the BMW 3 Series has always been the forerunner of state of the art driving pleasure. Now, with the launch of the new BMW 3 Series, the distinctive design, solid workmanship, and agile handling holds true to form the BMW 3 Series’ drive technology that has always set the benchmark worldwide.
The fifth generation BMW 3 Series has enhanced and facilitated new technologies by consistently combining fuel economy unrivalled by competitors. The current BMW Efficient Dynamics measures have secured the BMW 3 Series’ position as a segment leader in terms of fuel economy and emission levels.
The new front end is easily recognizable due to the vehicle’s wider track, which has been increased by three millimeters on each side at the front, and 12 millimeters on each side at the rear (for standard 16-inch tires). This effect is further emphasized by the new front apron, which also features sophisticated design details that underline the sporty styling of the BMW 3 Series. New character lines also now arrow inwards on the bonnet, drawing the eye to the BMW kidney grille, which is wider and lower than before.
The new headlights are set in chrome tubing for a stylish high-tech appearance. Daytime running lights (light rings) are now fitted as standard, as on the BMW 3 Series Coupe and BMW 3 Series Convertible.
The rear of the car is now wider, more toned, and more contemporary, and consequently has a far sportier feel. Together with the restyled rear lights and the wider track, this emphasizes the width of the BMW 3 Series, and gives it a more powerful appearance. The new LED indicators are now fitted as standard, and add to the innovative styling of the BMW 3 Series.
The mirror surfaces are larger for superior rear vision and the new rear lights are shaped like an L and have a high-tech look. They form a link between the sides and rear of the vehicle, and heighten the effect of width, while the redesigned double line creates two contour edges that make the rear appear wider.
“We are pleased to offer the new BMW 3 Series to the Philippine market and we expect it once again to become an unmatched leader in its segment,” said Jay Cruz, Sales Director of Asian Carmakers Corporation, the exclusive distributor of BMW vehicles and motorcycles in the Philippines.
The new BMW 3 Series has consistently added groundbreaking innovations in drivetrain engineering – revolutionary fuel injection and engine management systems, exceptionally high performing diesel power units as well as weight optimization through the utilization of aluminum and magnesium.

SEAT and BMW shared glory in Porto at the latest leg of the 2009 FIA World Touring Car Championship, claiming one win each, as 120,000 gathered around the Circuito da Boavista during the weekend.
In the first race Gabriele Tarquini converted his pole position to a lights-to-flag solo flight ahead of Chevrolet’s Robert Huff and his own SEAT Sport team-mate Yvan Muller. The second race saw Augusto Farfus’ deliverance after a black period, as the young Brazilian won the WTCC’s 100th race from Muller and Rickard Rydell.
The weekend’s leitmotif was to survive the traps of the fast and infamous street circuit. Many drivers did not succeed and were caught in a number of spectacular crashes.
One who stayed out of all troubles was Yvan Muller, who finished on the podium twice and streched his leadiing margin. Tarquini is now 14 points behind him, while Farfus is one further point adrift. As a matter of fact the BMW Team Germany man seems to be the main threat for Muller in his attempt to maintain the world title.
The championship will resume on July 19th at Brands Hatch, UK, for rounds 15 and 16, while the finals will be held in Macau in November.
BMW owners will get a chance to see the action live simply by bringing in their car for a minimum service & parts charge and get a chance to win an all expense paid trip 2009 FIA World Touring Car Championship in Macau. There will be three winners flown to Macau to watch the WTCC and one lucky winner of the F1 Singapore Grand Prix trip in September. Enjoy these exclusive offers from June 22 to August 31, 2009.
