BMW Successfully Holds Annual Golf Cup National Finals

BMW SUCCESSFULLY HOLDS ANNUAL GOLF CUP NATIONAL FINALS.

Top contenders to represent the Philippines at the BMW Golf Cup International 2013

MANILA, Philippines – Asian Carmakers Corporation (ACC), the official importer and distributor of BMW cars in the Philippines, recently staged the Philippine national finals of the BMW Golf Cup International at the Sta. Elena Golf & Country Club in Sta. Rosa Laguna. The event allows Filipino amateur golfers to be a part of the BMW Golf Cup International, the largest and most renowned tournament for amateur golfers in the world.

“With the tournament as a display of our Golfsport commitment, we continue to establish BMW as one of golf’s biggest supporters,” said ACC President Maricar Parco. “This tournament, which captures the accuracy, precision and passion of the brand is also our way of thanking our customers for their unwavering support of BMW this past year.”

The tournament, which is open to BMW customers who have purchased a vehicle in the past year and invited guests, featured four divisions: Men’s Class I, Men’s Class I, Women and Guests.

Coming in at first place for the Men’s Class I division is Zaldy Villa, followed by Louis Bartolome Borja in second and Vicente Bautista in third.

For the Men’s Class II division, Timothy Chua won first place, while Abe Hussein and Norman Jison won second and third, respectively.

As for the Women’s division, Leana Carmon finished as champion, while Marie Clair Ong finished in second place and Christine Naidoo in third.

The Guest Division was won by Richie Yan, followed by Fernando Zaldarriaga in second and Salvador Arcilla in third.

The winners of the Men’s Class I Men’s Class II and Women’s division will represent the Philippines in the BMW Golf Cup International Finals in Phuket, Thailand in March 2014.

BMW also held a silent auction of premium items during the tournament, to aid fellow Filipinos affected by the recent typhoon. Proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Philippine Red Cross to support the relief operations for the victims of Typhoon Yolanda.

Through the silent auction, BMW joins the Filipino community in coming together to help their countrymen in need.

“We at BMW are deeply saddened by the recent calamity,” added Parco. “Through this effort, we hope to rekindle the Joy in the hearts of those affected by the typhoon.”

EMERGENCY AID FOR THE PHILIPPINES.

BMW Group donates € 30,000 to typhoon victims. BMW X-model relief convoy provided as additional support.

Manila. Given the devastating consequences of Typhoon Haiyan that hit the Philippines, the BMW Group is showing solidarity with the victims of the catastrophe and has pledged emergency aid totaling € 30,000. The donation will be made through the Philippine Red Cross.

“Our deepest condolences go to the victims of Typhoon Haiyan. During this difficult time, our thoughts and sympathies are with the victims and their families,” said Mr. Graeme Grieve, Vice President of Importer Regions, BMW Group.

In addition to the monetary pledge, BMW Asia and Asian Carmakers Corporation will be deploying a relief convoy compromising of ten BMW X-model Sports Activity Vehicles (mixture of BMW X1, X3 and X5) for the transport of medical and relief supplies around Metro Manila.

“Apart from monetary donation, we felt that more could be done for the victims. A convoy of fleet carrying medical and relief supplies would be one of the most direct way of delivering help to the victims at this point in time,” said Mr. Neil Fiorentinos, Managing Director of BMW Group Asia.

Funds used to purchase the medical and relief supplies were diverted from the launch budget originally planned for the launch of Autoallee, a new BMW showroom in Edsa, Quezon City.

Sleek lines follow the V-shaped contours of the X1’s bonnet, travelling downwards and outwards to the lower section of the bumper, creating the sweeping “X” that establishes the look of all models under the BMW X series.

Exterior mirrors with integrated side indicators, new exterior paint finishes and a reduced plastic trim along the lower body edger contributes to the overall luxurious feel of the BMW X1. A range of choices with the BMW Lines

BMW CONTINUES WINNING STREAK AT THE INTERNATIONAL ENGINE OF THE YEAR AWARDS 2013.

BMW once again proved its superiority in engine technology with the victory of its TwinPower Turbo Technology at the International Engine of the Year Awards 2013.

The 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology, fitted in the BMW 1 Series, BMW 3 Series and BMW 5 Series, finished at the top of its displacement category, a repeat of BMW’s victory last year. The Engine of the Year Awards was presented at the Engine Expo fair in Stuttgart earlier this month.

Instantaneous power delivery and an unmatched level of efficiency were the cornerstones of BMW’s successful showing in this year’s Engine of the Year Awards, comprised of 84 motoring journalists from 35 countries.

Once again, BMW TwinPower Turbo technology provided the key to success in the 1.8 – 2.0-litre displacement class. Asian Carmakers Corporation, the official importer and distributor of BMW vehicles in the Philippines, in celebration of its 10 years of premium leadership in the automotive industry, will be supporting the BMW Car Club of the Philippines as it reaches its 10th year milestone through the Bimmerfest X scheduled to be held on May 4 at the Filinvest Tent in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

Bimmerfest is an annual celebration of the BMW Car Club of the Philippines (BMWCCP); an organization formed by a group of friends driven by their common passion for the BMW brand which has now turned out to be the largest and the only internationally-recognized BMW car owners club in the country.

During the Bimmerfest X, guests will be treated to exciting activities showcasing utmost sheer driving pleasure. They can look forward to the limited edition of BMW Z4 35is M Sport, an interplay of classical proportions and state-of-the-art technology and the BMW M5, the epitome of extraordinary power borne from a combination of high performance and luxury.

Asian Carmakers Corporation (ACC), the official importer and distributor of BMW vehicles in the Philippines, has officially formalized its partnership with the Armed Forces & Police Mutual Benefit Association, Inc. (AFPMBAI) for the long-term lease of an AFPMBAI property located in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. The lot will be the future site of the BMW Flagship Dealership, envisioned to be the largest and most modern BMW showroom in the country. The deal, amounting to over Php 1Billion, was made official through a MOA signing ceremony between Mr. Jose Ch. Alvarez, Chairman of ACC, and Brigadier General Ricardo C. Morales, President & CEO of AFPMBAI.

Asian Carmakers Corporation (ACC), the official importer and distributor of BMW in the Philippines, solidifies its number one position in the luxury segment, achieving the lion’s share of the market for ten straight years. BMW finished 2012 with a 33% market share in the luxury segment, mirroring a global trend that saw the BMW Group which posted an 11% increase year-on-year, its highest record ever.

“We thank the Filipino market for embracing BMW, granting us the honor to be the undisputed leader in the luxury vehicle segment for a decade. This gives us a reason to celebrate and strive more to give the best that BMW has to offer to the Philippines,” said Maricar Parco, ACC President.

2012: A Year of Product Momentum and Expansion

2012 is a banner year for BMW as it broke new grounds and set new records.

In June 2012, BMW posted its highest sales of 106 units, dominating the segment with a 41% market share that month.

In the first half of 2012, BMW held the groundbreaking ceremony of its fourth dealership in Metro Manila, at the Eton Centries in North EDSA, which is set to be operational this year.

Expanding its footprint, BMW also inaugurated two dealerships outside Luzon: the Autowelt BMW in Cebu and the Autobahn BMW in Talisay, Bacolod, bringing the tally of BMW Dealerships to seven nationwide.

To keep in step with evolving market preferences, BMW held two major product launches in 2012. At the first half of the year, BMW launched the All-New BMW 3 Series, the bestselling vehicle in the BMW vehicle line-up. In September, BMW launched the All-New BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe, the first four door coupe in the history of the BMW brand.

Beyond providing a luxurious driving experience to clients, BMW also took to heart its role as a good corporate citizen in 2012. In May, it served as the official premium mobility sponsor at the 45th Annual Governor’s Meeting of the Asian Development Bank, the Philippines’ biggest economic event hosting of the year. BMW provided a fleet of BMW 5 Series vehicles to visiting Heads of State for this event.

BMW also provided support for the Jose Ch. Alvarez Technology Complex in Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan, a P72.3-million modern technological education facility in order to bring the skills of Filipino technicians to world-class standards.

Growth Drivers

At the core of BMW’s growth in the Philippines is the strength of its products, the key to BMW’s success.

The 3 Series, BMW’s biggest volume driver, whose sixth generation model was introduced to the Philippines in May, continues to be the segment leader with a 38% market share for 2012, making it the highest selling model and brand in its class.

The 5 Series, on the other hand, posted a 39% year-on-year growth and dominated with a 37% market share for the year.

“We are very proud of the success of the 3 Series and 5 Series in the past year. The market leadership of these two models affirms the solid reputation of the BMW brand: the 3 Series in terms of sporting prowess, elegance and comfort; and the 5 Series when it comes to fuel efficiency, safety and unparalleled performance,” said Glen Dasig, ACC Executive Director for Sales and Marketing.
