BMW Golf Cup International 2015 qualifying heat tees off in Manila.

Winners to represent the Philippines at the World Final in South Africa.
 

Manila, Philippines – Despite an overcast and damp start at the fairways of Tagaytay Midlands Golf Club in Batangas, the BMW Golf Cup International National Final 2015 saw a display of excellent sportsmanship anew from BMW customers and invited guests. Presented by Asian Carmakers Corporation (ACC), the official importer and distributor of BMW in the Philippines, the annual invitational hosted participants who competed for the top ranks in four (4) major divisions: Men’s Class I, Men’s Class II, Ladies, and Guests. Siblings William and Mary Kim Hong bagged the coveted awards in the Men’s Class I and Ladies categories. They will join Men’s Class II division’s Emmanuel Barcelon in the much-awaited World Final.
 

William Hong bested over 50 contenders to emerge as the winner of the Men’s Class I division with 55 points. Noel Flores settled for second with a net score of 28 against Harrison Milo Paltongan’s 27 in the last nine holes after tying at 53.
 

In the Men’s Class II division, Emmanuel Barcelon defended the highest billing with an inspired game against Victor Mapua who came in at second place and won over Renato Ongtao also via countback with 30 points in the last nine.
 

To make her own mark in the competition, Mary Kim Hong matched her brother’s victory with a slim advantage at the top of the leaderboard of the Ladies division. She held 18 points in the last six holes to win over Malu Gamboa who tied her net score of 51. Marilou De Leon completed the category’s roster and settled for a distant third with 33 points.
 

Guest player Arnel Paras triumphed to nab the top spot and relegate Ricky De Roca to second. Last year’s Men’s I category winner Chino Raymundo landed a repeat victory, this time in the division’s third place.
 

The respective champions of the Men’s Class I, Men’s Class II, and Ladies’ divisions are set to represent the Philippines in the BMW Golf Cup International World Final, which will take place in George, South Africa in March 2016. The world-class golf event will gather players from more than 50 countries across the globe to culminate the renowned series.

BMW lauds APEC Summit 2015 partners.

Manila, Philippines – Asian Carmakers Corporation (ACC), the official importer and distributor of BMW in the Philippines, recently recognized valued partners who delivered outstanding service throughout the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit 2015. BMW COMPLETES TURN OVER OF VEHICLE FLEET FOR APEC 2015 SUMMIT.

MANILA, Philippines, November 10, 2015 – Asian Carmakers Corporation (ACC), the official importer and distributor of BMW in the Philippines, turned over a fleet of BMW 7 Series vehicles to the APEC 2015 National Organizing Council (APEC-NOC). As the APEC 2015 Summit’s official premium mobility partner, BMW is sponsoring vehicles to serve as shuttles for esteemed delegates throughout the international summit.

Held in the presence of APEC-NOC Chairman Amb. Marciano Paynor, the ceremony completes the assembly of BMW-sponsored vehicles for the APEC, following the first batch of BMW 5 Series units turned over last May. The fleet includes vehicles that will be used by ministers and heads of states participating in the upcoming APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting on November 18 and 19.

BMW and Leica Camera lead first-ever Photo Cup in the Philippines.

Manila, Philippines – Two distinguished masters of German engineering have teamed up to showcase the best of exclusive design and premium craftsmanship. Asian Carmakers Corporation, the official importer and distributor of BMW in the Philippines, together with the official retailer of Leica Camera products in the country Leica Store Philippines, recently hosted the national round of the BMW Photo Cup, a region-wide experiential photo competition and inaugural event of the two brands.

The BMW Photo Cup adopts the method of the famed Leica Akademie, known throughout the world as the breeding ground for the new generation of photographers. In Leica’s experimental workshops, experts inspire participants to rediscover the world of photography by sharing fresh insights and unique skills.

For the Philippine leg of the BMW Photo Cup, select BMW and Leica customers were taken through a special journey in the form of a one-day photography session led by internationally acclaimed photojournalist and Leica Akademie Lead Instructor Mathias Heng. BMW Motorrad further engaged Filipino motorcycle and car enthusiasts in the annual BOSS IronMan Motorcycle Challenge, in partnership with the BMW Owners’ Society of Saferiders (BOSS). Now on its 10th year, the BOSS IronMan Motorcycle Challenge saw participants gather at Hotel Stotsenberg, Clark, Pampanga last January 24 to complete a 1,200km loop around Northern Luzon. During the event, BMW again showcased its riding prowess as various BMW riders accumulated a number of awards.

BMW Motorrad, in partnership with Tuason Racing School, also organized the recently concluded California Superbike School for the second year in a row. Held last February 6-8 at the Clark International Speedway, the event saw 12 instructors from the California Superbike School in Australia and the US conduct a 2-day rider training, using BMW S1000RR sport bikes. Through the California Superbike School, participants were able to gain first-hand experience of the sheer riding pleasure delivered by the BMW Motorrad line-up while learning about riding techniques and bike control in entry level and advanced classes.

BMW riders named fastest in Cannonball 1000 endurance run.

Manila, Philippines – BMW motorcycle enthusiasts earned top honors in the first ever Cannonball 1000 endurance run in the Philippines. Cementing his reputation as one of the country’s finest professional riders, 68-year old businessman Max Kienle led the individual category on a BMW R1200 GS Adventure LC. The BMW Motorrad-supported Club PK also displayed a stellar performance and finished ahead of their counterparts in the Group of 10 category.

Under the leadership of six-time endurance champion Joey Almeda, the recently concluded Cannonball 1000 surpassed its target headcount and attracted over 600 motorcycle riders and car drivers from all over the country. Participants of the event navigated a route of over 1000 kilometers across Northern Luzon to complete the 24-hour challenge.

BMW dominates luxury segment in PH.

Premium automotive brand nets multiple international awards in 2014.

Manila, Philippines – Asian Carmakers Corporation (ACC), the official importer and distributor of BMW in the Philippines, delivered a total of 722 units in 2014 to mark its 12th consecutive year of leadership in the local premium automotive segment. Through ACC, BMW registered an 11 percent increase in sales locally.

The BMW 3 Series was billed the top selling vehicle of the brand and the whole of the Philippine luxury segment with more than 240 units sold. The Sports Activity Vehicles (SAV) BMW X3, BMW X5, and BMW X1 were also key drivers in the premium car brand’s sustained growth – a testament to the success of BMW’s X model range campaign last year.

Maintaining leadership in the Philippines.
According to ACC President Maricar Parco, BMW owes its success not only to segment-leading vehicles but also to a slew of programs centered on client satisfaction from engagement to ownership. BMW introduced the Product Genius concept to its local dealerships in 2014 to better deliver a comprehensive product experience. Unique events including the selling exhibition BMW Xpo, which featured the iconic BMW M cars, also demonstrated BMW’s commitment to attracting new customers to the brand.

BMW presented a positive outlook for 2015 with progress across the board. “We are aiming to cap the year with a double-digit growth by expanding our product range and amplifying our support for our dealer network in all three regions,” said Parco. Several new models are set to be introduced to Filipino customers within the year including the celebrated BMW 2 Series Active Tourer and all-new BMW X6.

Over 200 vehicles will be deployed in nine cities across six regions throughout the forum.

BMW’s triumphs in the Philippines echo the global recognition that the brand has received in 2014. The group concluded the year, in every respect a successful one, with multiple international award wins. The distinctions range from awards for design, sustainability, sportiness and innovation to intelligent vehicle networking.

The list of international prizes includes the renowned “International Engine of the Year Award”, with the winner determined by a specialized jury comprised of 82 car journalists from 34 countries. The same jury recognized the BMW i3 as the “World Green Car of the Year” and acknowledged its trendsetting design with the title “World Car Design of the Year”.

BMW i’s second model, the BMW i8 hybrid sports car, has also made an impression among trade journalists throughout the world. It received accolades including the “Best New Vehicle” awarded by the trade journal “Auto Zeitung” and was also voted “Car of the Year” by the British journal “Top Gear”.

BMW’s design was further recognized with the awarding of the “Red Dot” to the BMW 2 Series Coupe, BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo, BMW 4 Series Coupé and Convertible, BMW i3, and BMW i8 in the category “Best of Best”. The “Red Dot Design Award” is bestowed upon products with outstanding design quality by an international jury of experts within the framework of a design competition held by the North Rhine-Westphalia Design Centre.

BMW riders named fastest in Cannonball 1000 endurance run.

Manila, Philippines – BMW motorcycle enthusiasts earned top honors in the first ever Cannonball 1000 endurance run in the Philippines. Cementing his reputation as one of the country’s finest professional riders, 68-year old businessman Max Kienle led the individual category on a BMW R1200 GS Adventure LC. The BMW Motorrad-supported Club PK also displayed a stellar performance and finished ahead of their counterparts in the Group of 10 category.

Under the leadership of six-time endurance champion Joey Almeda, the recently concluded Cannonball 1000 surpassed its target headcount and attracted over 600 motorcycle riders and car drivers from all over the country. Participants of the event navigated a route of over 1000 kilometers across Northern Luzon to complete the 24-hour challenge.
